Friday – We got to the terminal around 9am, all the flights were canceled. We were told there might be a roll call for a late flight so we stayed and waited. No such luck. 6 hours in the airport and no flight.
It’s Saturday morning and the whole family is sitting in the airport trying to get a flight home. Vince, the kids and my parents used Space-A to travel over here. Space-A is a space available service the military has for families and service members. The pros – are safe flights and very cheap. The cons – are we wait and hope for a seat. Kaite and Parker are playing here in the terminal and Cather is doing a crossword puzzle. Vince and my father are pacing. There were 2 flights yesterday, but they were canceled at the last minute. There were 3 flights today. One was already canceled and the second one only had 24 seats. It just filled up without us. The third flight has seats, we just do not know how many. One person said 225 and another said only 56. I guess we will see we heard there is another flight tomorrow.
I decided to kill time by updating my blog.
There were 3 seats when our name was called, but we needed four seats so - no seats for us, but there was a flight to New York so my parents took that flight. They left around noon. The rest of us spent 9 hours in the terminal then went back to get a hotel room. 9 hours in the airport and one flight. 2 members of our party homeward bound and 4 still waiting to go.
Sunday. There were 2 flights to Andrews Air Force Base in Washington DC and one to Baltimore so Vince got out today. They pulled chocks at 1300 and they were wheels up 30 minutes later. I watched the air plane get smaller and smaller as my tears got bigger and bigger. It felt strange to have them here and now it feels even more odd not to have them here. But I will adjust and get back into the swing of things. Trust me, I have a ton of projects sitting on my desk at work.
Vince really is amazing. I watched him walk across the flight line with three kids, four carry on-bags and off they went. I would have been pulling my hair out. I guess I need to learn to relax.
I’ll wrap up the two weeks and post pictures.

I can't wait to see the pictures! I made it through most of the post without crying and then broke into tears at the end. You're in our thoughts and prayers.
